Publix Super Markets Charities proudly supports Junior Achievement, a nonprofit whose volunteer-driven programs teach K–12 students important work readiness and financial literacy skills. Participants learn through experience, inspiring them to dream big and reach their potential.

One example of Publix Charities’ support for Junior Achievement in our communities is sponsorship of select Junior Achievement BizTowns and Finance Parks, environments designed to prepare young people for the working world.

BizTowns help elementary school students connect what they’ve learned in school with their future adult lives. In these model towns, students can pay their bills, manage restaurants, operate banks, and even vote for mayor. Publix Charities sponsors a grocery store in select BizTowns, allowing young “grocers” to practice a wide range of skills from basic accounting to problem solving.

Finance Parks offer a more focused experience for advanced students. After a month of guided study, participants visit one of these realistic on-site or virtual communities. Here they put what they’ve learned into action by developing and committing to a personal budget. Publix Charities is pleased to sponsor select Finance Parks.
